Early voting underway for Nov. election

Early in-person voting is underway for the Nov. 7 general election. In Fulton County, early voting is at the Fulton County Board of Elections, 135 Courthouse Plaza in Wauseon.

Now through Oct. 27, early voting will be Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. From Oct. 30 through Nov. 3 it will be from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.

On Saturday, Nov. 4, early voting is 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. It is from 1-5 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 5. The final day of early in-person voting is Monday, Nov. 6, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

For those who will not vote in person, an absentee ballot application can be found at http://www.fultoncountyoh.com/index.aspx?nid=1058.

There will be 12 local issues on the ballot around Fulton County.

There will be one countywide issue: a renewal and increase is proposed for the county 911 system. A five-year, 0.7-mill renewal with a 0.3-mill increase is on the ballot.

Evergreen Local Schools are seeking a five-year renewal and decrease for the district’s income tax. Approval would decrease the amount of the tax to 0.25 percent.

Voters in the Archbold Area Schools district will decide on a levy for the Archbold Community Library. The additional five-year, 1.2-mill levy would pay for current expenses at the library.

In German Township, a new five-year, 2.0-mill levy for fire equipment and related fire expenses will be decided. Should it pass, the trustees have pledged to request that the county auditor stop collecting on the current five-year, 1.1-mill fire levy.

Fulton Township voters will see a five-year, 0.75-mill replacement levy for fire and rescue services. Pike Township voters will also decide on a replacement levy, a five-year, 0.5-mill levy for fire protection and EMS services.

Amboy Township has a five-year, 1 -mill levy renewal for fire and rescue services on the ballot.

The Village of Lyons has two property tax renewals on the ballot in November. They will be seeking renewal of a five-year, 4.1-mill tax for current operating expenses and a five-year, 0.5-mill for parks and recreation.

Chesterfield Township voters will decided on a five-year, 0.7-mill renewal for fire protection and EMS.

Fayette school district voters will decide on a five-year, 7.0-mill renewal levy for current operating expenses.

Voters in the Swanton Two precinct will decide on Sunday sales of spirituous liquor at the Swanton Sports Center, 610 N. Main St.
