Blue Streaks shut out Bryan

BRYAN – Clinging to a 7-0 lead at the half, Archbold outscored Bryan 21-0 in the second half to pick up a 28-0 win Friday night. Following the win, the Streaks are alone in first place.

Archbold quarterback Gabe Petersen broke a scoreless tie with just 10 seconds remaining in the first half, running it in from four yards out. Kaiden Bedsole’s extra point made it 7-0, and the Blue Streaks would take that lead into the break.

The Streaks scored twice in the third quarter. Running back Sam Petersen scored from a yard out, then Gabe Petersen added a 44-yard touchdown to put their lead at 21-0 with 3:23 left in the quarter.

In the fourth, Gabe Petersen hit Deven Girdham for a 37-yard TD to end scoring in the game.

The Blue Streak signal caller rushed for 117 yards on 23 carries and added 112 more through the air. He had a passing TD and two rushing scores.

Sam Petersen finished with 102 yards on 15 carries and a TD.

Bryan quarterback Zac Nobis completed 10 of 26 passes for 133 yards, but had an interception. Nobis rushed for 70 yards on 13 attempts.

Archbold (5-1, 3-0 NWOAL) hosts Liberty Center (5-1, 2-1) this Friday in a key NWOAL contest.
