HAMLER – Archbold quarterback Gabe Petersen had three rushing touchdowns and two more through the air as the Blue Streaks defeated the defending NWOAL champions 42-13 Friday night.
The senior signal caller had runs of 17 and 12 yards, plus he connected with Nic Rodriguez and Deven Girdham on a pair of scores to give the Streaks a 28-7 halftime lead.
In the fourth quarter, both he and brother Sam Petersen added rushing TDs to equal the final tally.
Scoring for Patrick Henry was Xavier Wensink on a two-yard run, and Sam Zimmer on a 35-yard pass from Jarrett Maas.
Gabe Petersen connected on 13 of 17 passes for 245 yards and two scores to one interception. He rushed for 108 yards on 15 carries, while Sam Petersen finished with 61 yards on 12 carries.
Girdham was the leading receiver for the Streaks with three catches for 93 yards.
Archbold (4-1, 2-0 NWOAL) is at Bryan (2-3, 1-1) this week.
