Blue Streaks handle Lake Flyers


MILLBURY – Archbold had Lake shut out into the third quarter and hung on for a 29-13 win in non-league football Friday night on the road.

Quarterback Gabe Petersen, like he has been much of the season, was a dual threat for the Blue Streaks. He was their leading rusher with 152 yards on 22 attempts and a pair of touchdowns, while also completing 9 of 19 passes for 196 yards with a touchdown and interception.

Sam Petersen had 85 yards rushing on 15 carries and a TD, and also caught two passes for 36 yards and a score. The Streaks finished with 432 yards of total offense.

Scott Mackiewicz finished with 106 yards rushing and a pair of TDs for the Flyers.

Archbold (2-1) is at Wauseon (3-0) this Friday to begin league competition.
