Delta falls short to Tinora in non-league football

Delta put themselves in a 18-0 hole that they could not recover from, falling at home to Tinora 24-6 in non-league football action Friday night.

The Panthers trailed just 6-0 at halftime after Tinora quarterback Spencer Giesige connected with Alex Henry for a 45-yard touchdown in the first quarter.

However, the Rams scored twice in the third as Brendan Dingus scored on a two-yard run and Jacob Drewes added a punt return TD from 60 yards away to push their lead to 18-0.

Delta got on the board in the fourth with Tyson Cameron’s 15-yard TD run, but the Panthers couldn’t connect on the two-point conversion.

Andrew Imthurn closed out the scoring for the Rams with a four-yard run and a missed extra point.

Neither team reached 200 yards of total offense as Tinora outgained Delta 188-100.

Jason Beverly paced the Panther offense with 31 yards rushing on five carries, and also two catches for 16 yards. Brady Bumb ran for 78 yards on 16 attempts for the Rams.
