Blue Streaks shut out Aces


HICKSVILLE – Archbold football racked up 324 rushing yards and also 99 more through the air in a season-opening 37-0 shutout of preseason Green Meadows Conference favorite Hicksville Friday night.

Blue Streak quarterback Gabe Petersen and his twin brother Sam Petersen each had over 100 yards and a pair of touchdowns on the ground. Gabe Petersen also finished with 99 yards through the air on 8 of 10 passing.

Archbold’s Nic Rodriguez caught four passes for 82 yards and a TD. He also had a 33-yard field goal for the Streaks.

Archbold (1-0) returns home to face Liberty-Benton in non-league action this Friday.
