Bethani Tibbs, a 7-year-old Wauseon resident, has experienced much success on the martial arts stage recently.

She has been in Kenpo Karate for the last three years.

Tibbs won the Superfoot World Championship in Cleveland back in April, and on June 24 in Cincinnati, she won the Ohio State Championship.

Her performance at the Ohio State Championship, in which she won two gold medals and a silver, earned her a spot at the Elite World Championships as part of the International Martial Arts Festival. This event will take place at Disney World Oct. 27-28.

Tibbs will be fighting in three different categories at Disney: Forms, Weapons and Kumite. Additionally, she will be taking part in a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu tournament, of which she did not have to qualify.

The event will be aired live on ESPN.
