The Fayette boys cross country team will strive to repeat as Buckeye Border Conference champions with a host of letter winners back.
“We have good numbers with several returning letter winners from last season,” said coach Matt Maginn.
Back for the Eagles are Casen Burkholder, Bryce Conclin, Alex Jaramillo, Austin Lopez, Mason Maginn, Garett Reinking, Christian Renner, Cole Stuckey and Jason Stuckey.
Despite the returnees, Fayette did lose quality runners to graduation.
“We lost three strong seniors from last year,” said coach Maginn. “Our returning letter winners are going to be looked upon for leadership.”
Skylar Lantz, who placed first at the BBC jamborees last season is among those gone. Also lost are Dylan Stannard and Jared Wagner.
Newcomers looking to help with team scoring include Clayton Pheils, Troy Decant, Alec Bost, Porter Maginn, Trey Keefer and Kody Rashly.
“With the strength in numbers and experience, we hopefully will go far in the league and in the tournament,” said coach Maginn.
