Stellar pitching propels Pettisville

Behind Austin Horning’s no-hitter, Pettisville was able to advance in the Division IV sectional baseball tournament with a 11-1 win at home over North Central Tuesday.

They bested the Eagles in five innings in light of the OHSAA run rule.

Horning allowed one unearned run with a strikeout and no walks to get the win on the mound. David Pinc took the loss for North Central.

Pettisville’s leading hitter was John Rufenacht who finished 1 for 3 with three RBIs. Horning went 2 for 2 with an RBI and a pair of runs scored.

The Blackbirds will now head to Stryker for the sectional final today at 5 p.m.
