Wauseon sweeps Evergreen tri-meet

In an all Fulton County NWOAL tri-meet at Evergreen Tuesday, Wauseon defeated Swanton and Evergreen.

The Wauseon boys took first with 110 points, followed by Evergreen with 45 and Swanton with 20. In the girls meet, Wauseon finished with 71 points, Evergreen 61, and Swanton 42.

Winning multiple events for the Indians were Kyle Vernot who took first in the 1600m and 3200m, and Dawson Rupp who placed first in both the high jump and long jump.

Hunter Van Wert (100m) and Hunter Svoboda (400m) picked up wins for Evergreen. For Swanton, Nick Koback won the pole vault.

Helping the Wauseon girls to victory were Hannah Richer who placed first in the 1600m and Samantha Aeschliman who took first in the 3200m. In the field, they added victories from freshman Paige Smith in the long jump and Aliza Dauterman in the shot put.

Pacing the Evergreen girls was Alyssa Noe who took home titles in the 100m and 400m. Other winners for the Vikings were Savannah VanOstrand (800m), Amelia Kennedy (100m hurdles), and Bailie Sutter (300m hurdles).

Along with Haley Nelson who won the 200m, the Lady Bulldogs would get wins in the field from Julia Smith (high jump), Hannah Grabke (pole vault), and Sidney Taylor (discus).
