Area boys named first team in District 7

The District 7 Basketball Coaches Association announced their all-district teams last week.

On the boys side, Austin Rotroff and Carter Bzovi of Wauseon made first team District 7 in Division II. Additionally, Wauseon’s Chad Burt received coach of the year honors.

Second team District 7 for the Indians was Brooks Gype.

In Division III, Archbold had a pair of players make first team District 7. Bryce Williams and Eli Miller received that honor for the Blue Streaks.

Swanton’s Gunnar Oakes was also named first team District 7.

Getting second team honors was Mason Loeffler of Evergreen.

No local players made first or second team in Division IV, but Tharyn Colegrove of Fayette and Pettisville’s Gabe Beck and Caleb Rychener were named honorable mention.

Division II

First team

Austin Rotroff, Wauseon; Carter Bzovi, Wauseon; Charles Robinson III, Woodward; Christian Smith, Rogers; Connor Bihn, Rossford; D.J. Triplett, Central Catholic; Preston Morman, Bowling Green.

Player of the Year: Brett Lauf, Napoleon.

Coach of the Year: Chad Burt, Wauseon.

Second team

Jaden Valderas, Bryan; Taquarius Belcher, Rogers; Connor Graetz, Maumee; G’Nonn Caraway, Woodward; Brooks Gype, Wauseon; Aneas Cousin, Fostoria; Ben Pacer, Maumee.

Honorable mention

Wauseon: Brendan Britsch, Owen Newlove.

Division III

First team

Player of the Year: Ethan Linder, Wayne Trace.

Coach of the Year: Jim Linder, Wayne Trace.
