Gunnar Oakes of Swanton, Delta’s Maddie Mattimore claim league scoring titles

Swanton’s Gunnar Oakes with a slam dunk in a regular season game this season. Oakes is the Northwest Ohio Athletic League scoring champion as he finished with 149 points in league play.

Delta’s Maddie Mattimore was the NWOAL scoring champion in girls basketball with 113 league points.

The Northwest Ohio Athletic League has calculated their league boys and girls basketball scoring champions with the recent conclusion of the regular season.

For the fourth straight season, the boys scoring champion will go to Swanton. It is also the fourth straight year that a Delta player took the girls crown.

Gunnar Oakes of Swanton took the boys title, while Maddie Mattimore of Delta won the girls title.

Oakes led the league with 149 points in league play. The next highest was Bryce Williams of Archbold with 114 points.

Mattimore won the girls title with 113 points in league competition. She was followed by Archbold’s Kierstyn Repp who scored 100 points.
