Wauseon boys first at Ramsey Invite

BLOOMDALE – Wauseon track and field was at the John Ramsey Invitational at Elmwood Friday as their boys took first and the girls finished third.

Helping the Wauseon boys to victory was Caleb Blanchong who won both the 1600 and 3200 meter run. Also, Mason Creager took home the title in the 400m.

The Indians won three relay events, the 4×200, the 4×400 and 4×800.

For the girls, Avery Giguere was victorious in the 800m and 1600m. Kallie Strauss won the shot put for Wauseon with a throw of 35-feet-and-three inches.

The Indians also got a victory in the 4×103 meter weight relay event.

The NWOAL track and field championships begin today at 2 p.m. at Bryan. The field events will take place today, as well as the running of the 4×800 meter relay and all preliminary races. Action concludes Friday with the running finals that are set to begin at 7 p.m.
