ACME baseball tournament underway

The 2015 ACME baseball postseason gets underway this week with the sectional tournament. Area teams will compete in two districts.

In the District 2 north sectional, Pettisville opened the tournament Wednesday against Tinora. The winner plays Archbold today at 7:30 p.m.in Archbold.

The winner of that contest plays either Patrick Henry or Ayersville in the winners’ bracket final on Friday at 5:30 p.m.

The top two teams in the sectional advance to the district tournament at Patrick Henry July 11-15.

In a District 3 sectional at Napoleon, Evergreen and Delta kick things off with a contest on Friday at 4:30 p.m. The winner will face Wauseon Sunday at 11 a.m.

The losing team falls to the consolation bracket in the double elimination tournament.

In the top half of the bracket, Swanton will take on Napoleon at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The winner of that game advances to the winners’ bracket final on Sunday at 4 p.m.

The top two teams in the sectional will advance to the district tournament at Perrysburg, which will be played July 10-12.

The State ACME Tournament will be played in Coldwater July 18-20.
