Wauseon tennis nips Archbold

Archbold hosted Wauseon in boys tennis action Tuesday as the Indians emerged victorious, 3-2.

In singles, Wauseon’s Derek Zimmerman earned a 6-0, 6-2 win over Archbold’s Erik Short in second singles, while Evan Kost defeated Josh Kidder 5-7, 6-4, 6-4 in third singles.

Also for the Indians, their first doubles team of Aaron Spieles and Tristan Uribes defeated Archbold’s Alex Short and Luke McQuade 3-6, 6-1, 6-4. Lucas Rupp and Michael Short of Archbold swept Taylor Wilcoxon and Brady Blaylock 6-4, 6-4 in second doubles.

The other win for the Blue Streaks came in first singles as Jereme Rupp won in straight sets over Conner Hicks 6-1, 6-0.
