HAMLER – A week after putting themselves at the forefront of the NWOAL football race, Delta took a step backwards Friday night when they fell on the road at Patrick Henry, 22-14.
Patrick Henry’s Brandon Bennett blocked a punt for a touchdown with 4:24 left in the game to put the Patriots up 22-7. Delta answered with a 19 yard TD pass from Noah Parsons to Bailey Storeholder to make it 22-14 with just over 2:30 remaining, but they would get no closer.
Storeholder got the scoring going with an 84 yard TD run in the first quarter, however, PH responded with five minutes left in the second on an eight yard rushing score from Kent Petersen and a two-point conversion pass to Brock Michaelis.
The Patriots other TD came by way of a fumble recovery in the end zone for Petersen.
Delta (3-2, 1-1 NWOAL) was limited to 199 yards of total offense. The Panthers are at Liberty Center on Friday.
