Swanton catapults up Ohio High School Athletic Association computer rankings in Region 18

There were some big jumps, both positive and negative, for county teams in the fourth edition of the Ohio High School Athletic Association football computer rankings that came out on Tuesday.

In Division IV, Region 14, Wauseon (5-2) dropped from fifth down to seventh after their 28-27 overtime loss at home against Swanton Friday night. The Indians are at Evergreen (4-3) this week.

However, the biggest jump came from Swanton (5-2) in Division V, Region 18.

After their big win over Wauseon, the Bulldogs moved up to fifth in the current rankings. They were ninth following week 6. Swanton has a chance to improve their standing even more when they welcome Liberty Center (5-2) Friday night.

Archbold (6-1), fresh off a victory over Liberty Center on Homecoming, remained at third in Region 18. The Blue Streaks take on Delta on the road this week.

In Division VI, Region 22, Evergreen (4-3) sits at 12th after a 17-point win against Patrick Henry. The Vikings were 12th in last week’s rankings as well.

Archbold also jumped from 10th to ninth in the latest Ohio Associated Press poll for Division V.
