Cub Scout recruitment starts tonight


Four County Area Cub Scouting, which includes the counties of Defiance, Fulton, Henry and Williams is recruiting Scouts for 2015-16.

A sign-up night will be held on Sept. 10 at locations listed below. All new scouts will receive a free rocket to build and then launch at the Deliver the Promise Community Youth Event at Camp Lakota, located at 2180 Ginter Rd., near Defiance on Saturday, Sept. 26 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Registration fee is $10 with an optional $5 for Boy Life magazine subscription.

Cub Scouting is for boys in the first through fifth grades. The program combines outdoor activities, sports, academics, and more in a fun and exciting program that helps families teach ideals such as honesty, good citizenship and respect.

Cub Scout sign-up nights are scheduled at the following locations today at 7 p.m. unless otherwise noted

At the sign-up night, boys will have an opportunity to meet other scouts and interested boys can participate in a game. Parents can learn more about the local unit’s activities and how scouting can benefit their child.
