Kaptur conducts fact finding

U. S. Representative Marcy Kaptur, far right, returned to Fulton County to restart a conversation she had in August during Breakfast on the Farm with Clark Emmons, far left. The information feeds directly into her duties on the House Energy and Water Committee. Most of the dozen farmers present were livestock farmers, plus regional and state Extension Office subject matter experts. Eric Richer, second from left, organized the farmers and the tour. They gathered in the shade of the Oakshade Dairy milking parlor, managed by Chris Weaver, plaid shirt. The topics ranged from bio-waste management, ground water purity and electricity generated. The tour included stops at Andre Compost Facility and Nature Fresh Farms in York Township. Kaptur encouraged those present to find solutions that have a synergy of agricultural and energy-related components which can improve the Maumee Watershed.
