In time for school

Isaac Heller of Wauseon is all smiles as he receives a fresh haircut in preparation to begin second grade when school begins on Wednesday. On Aug. 10, Heartland of Wauseon and Root Salon and Spa partnered to gift haircuts to 50 deserving children in during their Back 2 School Kids haircut event. It was made possible by donations from Anything Grows, Farmers and Merchants State Bank, Marathon Continental Plaza, Heartland of Wauseon, Root Salon and Spa, and Oh Ship. Anything Grows, Tantalizing, and Red Rambler Coffee Co. provided items for a raffle to raise additional back to school funds. Jessica Molina, Heartland’s admissions coordinator, said over $300 was donated “to ease the pressure that an outstanding education costs.” Pictured with Isaac are, from left, Dara Lavinder, Root Salon and Spa co-owner and massage therapist; Molina; Shiloh Ciepiela, Root Salon and Spa cosmetologist; and Fran Franklin, Heartland human resources.
