Haselman resigns from Swanton Village Council

Staff Report

Tamara Haselman has resigned from Swanton Village Council. Haselman stepped aside for personal reasons, according to Village Administrator Rosanna Hoelzle.

With the resignation of Councilwoman Haselman on July 28, a vacant seat exists on the Swanton Village Council. This seat will be filled by council appointment.

The appointee will serve out the remainder of Haselman’s term, which ends Dec. 31, 2017. The term is one of three to expire at the end of this year. Current council members Paul Dzyak and Kathy Kreuz have already filed to run in November.

Per Ohio Revised Code, the remaining members of council have 30 days to appoint a qualified person to fill this vacancy.

Any Village of Swanton resident who is a registered voter and at least 18 years of age, willing to serve, and interested in being considered for appointment to the open council seat, should send a letter of interest and qualifications to the following postal or email address:

Attn: Mrs. Rosanna Hoelzle, 219 Chestnut St., Swanton, Ohio 43558

Email: admin@villageofswantonohio.us.

Letters and qualifications from interested parties will be received until 10 a.m. Aug 10, 2017. Anyone with questions or seeking more information should contact the village administrator at 419-826-9515.
