Back-to-school sales tax holiday planned

A tax holiday this weekend will allow Ohio residents to save some cash on school supplies and back-to-school clothing. The sales tax holiday will run from Friday, Aug. 4 at midnight to Sunday, Aug. 6 at 11:59 p.m.

During the holiday, the items exempt from sales tax are items of clothing $75 or less, school supplies priced at $20 or less, school instructional material prices at $20 or less. There is no limit to the amount of the total purchase. The qualification is determined item by item.

The holiday applies to both brick and mortar and online sales.
