Reverend Michael Doerr to pastor First Christian Church in Wauseon

First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) has announced that Reverend Michael Doerr has been called to serve the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) of Wauseon, beginning Monday, July 24.

Doerr is a 1995 Masters of Divinity graduate of Lexington Theological Seminary in Lexington, Ky., and comes to Wauseon following 20 years of service as Pastor of Mt. Healthy Christian Church in Cincinnati.

In addition to serving the Mt. Healthy congregation, Doerr also serves in volunteer leadership with the Christian Church in Ohio, currently as the Chairman of the Personnel Committee and as a member of the Region’s Commission on Ministry Standing Team, as well as service on the Regional Church Council and Executive Committee.

He is married to Reverend Heather Schimmel, and has two daughters, Patricia and Rebekkah Schimmel-Doerr, a son-in-law, Cleveland Reese III, and a grandson, C.J. Reese.

The community is invited to meet Reverend Michael Doerr on Sunday, July 30. Brunch will be served in the Fellowship Hall at 9 a.m. with worship to follow at 10 a.m. First Christian Church is located at 121 East Elm St. Wauseon.
