Area American Heritage Girls camp at Widewater

American Heritage Girls Troop OH0333 from Shiloh Christian Union Church had a successful summer camp at Widewater Retreat Center on the Maumee River. The troop earned their Search, Survival, and Rescue badge.

The girls spent three days learning how to rescue wounded individuals, give first aid, and how to construct a single-man shelter. Some other highlights included swimming, games, and a bonfire.

American Heritage Girls have fun activities planned throughout the year such as dad-daughter bowling, a pinewood derby, winter lock-in, and mother-daughter painting. Serving in the community is also a big part of AHG. Together last year, the troop had over 200 hours of community service. Roadside trash pick-up, ministering to the elderly, honoring our veterans, and even hosting a baby shower for Women’s Health Resource Center are just a few of the ways they have served in the area.

American Heritage Girls is a Christian scouting troop for girls ages 5-18. Its goal is to build women of integrity through service to God, family, community, and country. For more information, please contact americanheritagegirls.com.
