Open Door gives scholarships

The Open Door of Delta has announced the winners of its 2017 scholarships.

Due to the exceptional quality of this year’s candidates, the scholarship committee asked the Open Door Board of Trustees to award three scholarships:

Brianna Andrews, the daughter of Isabel Fuentes and John Andrews, graduated from Wauseon High School, and will attend Otterbein University in the fall. She is pursuing a career as a zoologist or wildlife rehabilitator. She was a member of the National Honor Society and participated in volleyball and softball.

Lauren Hehl-Myers, the daughter of Patricia Hehl and Mark Myers, graduated from Delta High School. Lauren plans to attend Bowling Green State University, majoring in business administration. She was a member of the National Honor Society and Student Council, and was treasurer of her class. Lauren will pursue work in the healthcare field after college.

Austin David Hill, the son of Alan and Dawn Hill, graduated from Swanton High School, where he participated in marching/pep/concert bands, Student Council, and baseball, in addition to acting as the class and student body secretaries. Austin will attend Ohio State University, majoring in mechanical engineering.
