The Lucas County Engineer’s Office announced that Scott Road will be permanently closed at the railroad tracks on Monday, May 22. Norfolk Southern officials said the construction of their rail yard made closing Scott Road the safest option.
Cul-de-sacs will be constructed to the north and the south of the railroad tracks. During construction, detours will be posted.
Pursuant to the Norfolk Southern Railroad Company and Swanton Township Trustees reaching agreement on development of railroad property in Swanton Township, a portion of Scott Road through the railroad property was vacated by the Board of Lucas County Commissioners on May 2, 2017, according to the Engineer’s Office release.
