4-H Camp coming in June

Staff report

Fulton County 4-H Camp will be held Monday, June 12, through Friday, June 16, at Camp Palmer near Fayette, with the theme “Snap! Crackle! Pop! 4-H Camp.”

Camp activities include swimming, fishing, campfire, skits, dancing, canoeing, putt-putt, archery, matt ball, capture the flag, and participating in the Shooting Sports activity–shotgun and/or rifle–or the Challenge By Choice High Ropes Course, which requires pre-registration. A special selection of camp crafts will also be available including the clover lamp craft, leather crafts, marble magnets, and scrapbook page.

Thirty-three trained counselors have each spent 30 hours in training to plan and prepare for this summer camp. The camp offers the power of group cooperation, development of leadership skills, and self-confidence.

The fee is $160 per person, and partial scholarships for 4-H members are available until June 1, provided funds are available. Applications for scholarships and camp registration forms are available at the Fulton County OSU Extension Office, 8770 State Highway 108, or at fulton.osu.edu.

Registrations must be accompanied by full payment by June 6. No phone-in registrations accepted. 4-H Camp is open to both 4-H and non-4-H members; registration for non-members begins after May 15 and is filled on a first-come, first-served basis.

For information, call the OSU Extension Office at 419-337-9210.
