Ascend Education has announced that Delta Middle School will receive a 2017 Gold Medal for demonstrating a dedication to ensuring all students become successful at math.

Ascend Math is an online math intervention program that assists struggling students by providing a unique study path through skill gaps at each level.

“Congratulations to Pike-Delta-York students for the perseverance and hard work that led to their exceptional results,” said Kevin Briley, CEO of Ascend Education. ”Educators at Pike-Delta-York are clearly doing an incredible job.”

Pike-Delta-York uses multiple implementation objectives for Ascend including intervention, enhancement, and the RTI process in their special education program. The most critical reason the school district implements is to improve scores on Ohio’s State Test.

“Ascend has a tremendous impact on the students’ achievement,” Ascend’s Jon Mignin in his submission. “Many students are closing the gap in their math skills. The evidence for our students increasing grade levels throughout the year is incredible. Seventy-eight percent of our students have improved one or more levels, and 29 percent have improved two or more levels.”

Delta Middle School will be featured on the Ascend Math website throughout the next year. The school will receive a plaque commemorating its success.
