A Swanton man was sentenced in Fulton County Common Pleas Court last Thursday after pleading guilty to forgery.
According to Prosecutor Scott Haselman, on Dec. 20, 2016, Ryan Smigelski, 27, possessed checks of another person, which he fraudulently tried to cash.
Judge Jeffrey Robinson sentenced Smigelski to four years of community control, and order him to: pay a $500 fine; pay $300 restitution to the victim; stay out of bars; not possess or consume alcohol; and successfully complete the Drug Court Program. Smigelski served 81 days in jail.
Failure to comply could result in 11 months in prison.
