Wauseon woman killed in crash

A Wauseon woman was killed early Monday in a single-vehicle accident on State Route 108 in Chesterfield Township.

The Toledo post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol reported that a 1998 Jeep Wrangler driven by Nancy Pennington, 42, was traveling southbound on State Route 108 north of County Road T at approximately 12:28 a.m. when it went off the right side of the roadway, overcorrected, drove back onto the roadway and rolled over.

Pennington, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected from the vehicle, which came to rest upright on the road. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the accident.

The road was closed for approximately two hours.

Troopers were assisted at the scene by the Fulton County Sheriff’s Department, the Fulton County Coroner’s Office, the Gorham Fayette Fire Department and EMS, the Morenci Fire Department and EMS, and Merillat’s Towing.

The accident remains under investigation.
