Ohio Forestry, Wildlife Camp slated

The 2017 Ohio Forestry and Wildlife Conservation Camp is scheduled for June 11-16 at FFA Camp Muskingum near Carrollton, Ohio.

This co-ed residential camp is open to students entering their freshman year through seniors graduating in 2017. It’s a wonderful opportunity for students to learn about Ohio’s forests, wildlife, conservation, tree identification, ecology, and more.

The for the week-long camp is $375. The Fulton SWCD is offering a half-paid scholarship for one Fulton County student. Contact 419-337-9217 or e-mail kbowles@fultoncountyoh.com for information. After attending the Forestry Camp, an essay must be written by the student about their experience.

College scholarships will be awarded to top scorers on the final exam at camp. These scholarships are offered by Ohio State University, Ohio University, Hocking College, and the Ohio Forestry Association. Additionally, the Ohio Forestry Foundation’s E.B. Miller Memorial Scholarship is available to students wishing to pursue a career in forestry or other natural resource field.
