Open houses slated for Regional Transportation Improvement Program review

Staff report

The public will have an opportunity to review the draft of a Regional Transportation Improvement Program (RTIP) being developed by the Maumee Valley Planning Organization for Fulton, Defiance, Henry, Paulding, and Williams counties.

Open house meetings will be held Tuesday, March 28, 3-6 p.m., at the Archbold Community Library, 205 Stryker St., and Thursday, April 6, 3-6 p.m., at the Defiance County EMA, 22491 Mill St., Defiance.

The RTIP is a short range planning document that lists projects in the region with state and federal funding scheduled to be implemented from state fiscal years 2018-21. The document is being developed in coordination with the Ohio Department of Transportation’s Statewide Transportation Improvement Program (STIP), and will be included in the STIP when completed.

Public open house meetings will be held to give the public an opportunity to review the draft RTIP and provide input.

Members of the public can come and go throughout the three-hour time period of each public open house meeting. Each will make the same information available; they will simply be offered in separate locations for convenience.

The draft RTIP document is available at www.mvpo.org/transportation, and members of the public are encouraged to submit comments or questions or ask for a print from Ellen Smith at 419-784-3882 or mvpo@mvpo.org, or by entering comments into the comment box located on the webpage.
