Veterans ID cards available

Frederick Freet of Wauson, second from right, was presented with a veteran’s ID card on Wednesday by, from left, Fulton County Recorder Sandy Barber, Recorder’s office staff member Kevin Bidwell, and Fulton County Veterans Services Director Crystal Bennett. Freet is the second Fulton County veteran to receive his official veteran’s ID card. In a collaborative effort, Barber and Bennett announced they will now be able to issue the cards to Fulton County veterans through the Recorder’s office at no charge. The cards will simplify the process of veterans using identification at restaurants, hotels, and other businesses. Appointments to get a card are available March 2-3, 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m.; for an appointment, call 419-337-9232. No appointments necessary after March 13. Information is available at fultoncountyoh.com/recorder.
