The executive director of Quadco Rehabilitation Center in Stryker was praised for his performance at a recent monthly meeting of the facility’s board.

During Bruce Abell’s annual evaluation, Jean Jackman, the center’s Non-Profit Board president, told him, ““We are extremely pleased with your performance and hoping that you stay for many, many more years.” Jackman added that Abell “does a great job of keeping the board informed and on top of things.”

The monthly meeting followed the board’s annual organizational meeting, where three board members were elected as officers to the 2017 Non-Profit Board: Jackman, president; Tootie Bockelman, vice president; and Barb Heer, secretary.

Two other board members were elected to the Administrative Board: Ruth Ann Osborne, president, and Linda Woodall, vice president.

Quadco’s Employment Services Manager, Rachel Lange, told board members Northwest Employment Services is currently serving 45 individuals in Job Placement Services. That number is a 50 percent increase from the prior year. Lange attributed the increase to Quadco’s reputation as a provider of quality services and the department’s success in placing individuals in competitive employment quickly. She told members some of the employment opportunities recently obtained are clerical related, cashier, and dietary aides.

In other business, the board scheduled March 22 for the organization’s annual planning session.

The next regular meeting of the Non-Profit Board will be Feb. 28 in the facility’s conference room.
