Defiance woman sentenced

The following individuals were sentenced by Judge Jeffrey Robinson recently in Fulton County Common Pleas Court, according to Prosecutor Scott Haselman.

Jamie Dean, 36, of Defiance previously pleaded guilty to passing bad checks and failure to appear on personal recognizance bond. Between April 18, 2008, and May 1, 2008, she passed seven bad checks. On May 15, 2009, she failed to appear in court for her sentencing hearing.

She was sentenced to two years of community control, and ordered to: pay prosecution costs; pay a $400 fine; have no checking account unless approved by probation officer; pay restitution of $798.23 to Shopko; serve 30 days in the Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio, with three days credit and work release.

Failure to comply could result in eight months in prison for passing bad checks, and eight months in prison for failure to appear, to be served concurrently.
