The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) District Two is preparing the roads for winter weather.

Crews are pretreating state and federal routes with brine across Fulton, Henry, Lucas, Ottawa, Sandusky, Seneca, Wood and Williams counties.

A winter storm is possible for the weekend. It could bring accumulating snow to the area.

Officials at ODOT are closely monitoring the forecast and will continue to treat routes as necessary.

ODOT reminds drivers to use caution and drive to the conditions of the road.

Remember to drive well below the posted speed limit and leave plenty of room between cars during inclement weather.

Give snowplows and brine trucks room to work. The plows are wide and can cross the centerline or shoulder. Don’t tailgate and try not to pass.

Drivers can check OHGO.com before leaving for the latest conditions on major roads.
