Wauseon celebrates Homecoming

The 81st Wauseon Homecoming took over downtown Wauseon Thursday through Saturday. Events for young and old were offered to keep just about everybody interested.

The Kids’ Parade helped to kick things off on Thursday. It was followed later in the evening by the Queen’s Pageant.

Emily Legenza was named 2015 Homecoming Queen. Miss Photogenic and first runner-up was Emalee Stewart. Lexi Conrad was named by her fellow contestants Miss Congeniality. Elizabeth McCullough was second runner-up. Doug kutzli was the Master of Ceremonies.

A Battle of the Bands and Teen Dance kept people entertained on Friday evening. Ordway, a band from Bowling Green, won the Battle of the Bands.

The grand parade was held on Saturday morning with Ruth Zimmerman serving as grand marshal. A car show, Jr. Miss Pageant and a performance by Wally and Beavs also took place Saturday.

At the conclusion of Homecoming, the raffle winners were announced. The winner of the $10,000 grand prize was Steven Gobie of Morral, Ohio.

Chad Ebersole was the winner of the customized golf cart. Dustin Hudik of Lyons won the 50-inch television. The winner of the Weber Gas Grill was OK Electric of Wauseon. The winner of the laptop computer was Suzy Label. Lisa Aschliman of Wauseon won the Fulton County Fair package.

Next year’s Wauseon Homecoming will be held July 28 through 30.
