ACT presenting funny ‘Best Christmas Pageant’

Staff report

The Archbold Community Theater will present the humorous Yuletide classic, “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever,” on Dec. 2,3,9,10, and 11 at Giffey Hall in Ridgeville Corners.

Directed by Teresa Van Sickle and Sommer Mello, both of Archbold, the production tells the story of Mrs. Armstrong, who usually directs the Christmas pageant but is sidelined with a broken leg. In her absence, naive mom Grace Bradley (Cindy Kinkaid of Archbold) volunteers to direct with the help of her husband (Rob Young of Montpelier), daughter (Bri Young of Montpelier), and son (Joshua Reed of Stryker). They enlist the talents of the dreaded Herdman children (William Nofziger and Joel Ward of Archbold, Ryan Clark and Tristin Galbraith of Wauseon, Emma Bailey of Defiance, and Amelia Canales of Ney), the scourge of the local school, and the pageant is turned on its ear.

Roles are also played by Autumn Benecke, Ava Genter, Elsie Mello, Meggie Mello, Sarah Vorsselmans, and Rebekah Rosales of Archbold; Carlos Bowers, Katie Moore, and Caroline Sterken of Wauseon; Brooklyn Leahy of Napoleon; Reece Miller and Deanna Miller of Defianc; Cailynn Young of Montpelier; and Scott Reeb of Stryker.

The music director is Lindsay Bialorucki of Ridgeville Corners.

Show times are 7:30 p.m. December 2, 3, 9 and 10, and 2:30 p.m. Dec. 11.

To order tickets, call 419-267-5717 Monday through Friday, 6-9 p.m.
