Local residents earn degrees, honors


Tiffin University

TIFFIN – The administration at Tiffin University has announced those students who earned Dean’s List distinction for the spring semester of the 2014-15 academic year. Locally, Jessica Fisher of Delta and Kathleen Roberts of Wauseon were included.

Kent State University

KENT – Kent State University awarded more than 5,500 degrees, with 1,445 accompanying institutional honors, and including 1,919 associate degrees, 2,657 bachelor’s degrees, 803 master’s degrees, 141 doctoral degrees and 4 educational specialist degrees.

Archbold: Samantha Varner, Bachelor of Arts, College of Arts and Sciences.

Swanton: Maria Avila, Bachelor of Science, College of Education, Health and Human Services; Chelsea Bollinger, Bachelor of Business Administration, College of Business Administration and Jenelle Lydy, Bachelor of Arts, College of Arts and Sciences.

Wauseon: Caitlyn Callahan, Master of Arts, College of Communication and Information and Rebekah Tefft, Bachelor of Arts, College of Arts and Sciences, summa cum laude.

Honors

The administration of KSU was pleased to announce that 8,336 full time students were named to the Dean’s List. of those students, 821 were recognized as part of the President’s List.

To qualify for Dean’s List, a full time student must earn a grade point average of 3.40 on 12 or more letter graded credit hours.

To qualify for the President’s List, a full time student must earn a grade point average of 4.00 on 15 or more letter graded credit hours.
