The temporary location of the Delta branch of the Fulton County Senior Center and Nutrition Site has become permanent.
The Fulton County Commissioners have entered into a formal agreement with Delta United Methodist Church to provide meeting space for the senior center. Located at 101 Northwood Drive, the church has been a temporary home for the Delta Senior Center since Feb. 1, when the former site, Memorial Hall, became in need of repair.
Senior Center Director Sheri Rychener said the new location is a great fit. “We were outgrowing our space at Memorial Hall and had been looking for other locations that offered more parking options,” she said.
The new location is accessible for seniors, provides ample parking with good lighting and offers many opportunities for seniors 60 and over, Rychener said. A recent Senior Center choir performance was able to accommodate 65 people.
The hours of remain 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays. For more information, call 419-337-9299 or visit www.fultoncountyoh.com/seniorcenter.
The Swanton site of the senior center is also likely to change. Swanton Mayor Ann Roth said at Monday’s council meeting that there is a verbal agreement to move the site from Trinity United Methodist Church to the new Swanton community room on Chestnut Street.
Also at the meeting, Fulton County Commissioner Bill Rufenacht thanked the church for hosting the senior center, but highlighted the parking at the community room and the lack of stairs.
