Some area residents felt the ground shake Tuesday, as an earthquake was reported in southern Michigan at 11:42 a.m. The small 3.3 magnitude earthquake was centered about seven miles northeast of Union City, which is between Jackson and Kalmazoo.
Reports to the U.S. Geological Survey, show reports of the earthquake being felt in Swanton, along with Lyons, Maumee and Toledo. No damage has been reported.
