Originally opened in 2003 at 1214 N. Shoop Ave., Red Rambler Coffees moved over the Memorial Day weekend to their new 2,000 square foot location at 1493 N. Shoop Ave. in the Ace Plaza. Jo and Melvin Michelson’s original mission was to bring high-grade, freshly roasted coffee and create a comfortable area for the community to gather. Along with coffee and tea, they had assorted baked goods, including Jo’s delicious made-from-scratch cheesecakes.

Along with the expanded seating capacity and their menu of food items, Red Rambler Coffees is now offering craft beer by North River Brewing Company. On premise, Jo and Mel offer eight craft-brewed, draft beers that are brewed in their 4,000 square foot warehouse. Red Rambler Coffees offers five ounce sample glasses for the undecided drinker, and for customers that want a taste of craft beer at home, they sells 64 ounce brown glass growlers.

During the grand opening on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., Red Rambler Coffees will be offering behind-the-scenes tours of their new location, with emphasis on their roasting and brewing operations as well as plenty of food, live music, craft beer and coffee.

Their revised mission is to provide an inviting place where the community can spend quality time over their choice of fresh-roasted coffee, craft draft beer and tasty food items to compliment the occasion.
