Hygiene products wanted

Staff report

Evergreen Middle School is implementing a hygiene packet program useable for K-12 students in the school district who do not have access to hygiene products.

Personal hygiene includes every day habits helpful in maintaining the body cleanliness. However, due to lack of resources, as well as not being educated about good hygiene practices, students maybe facing certain unwanted consequences.

The middle school is asking for donations of some travel-size or full-size products to help kick-start this program through a community partnership. Items being sought include: travel-size feminine products; full-size female deodorant, tampons, and shampoo; full-size male deodorant and conditioner; toothbrushes, body soap, toothpaste, combs, soap, shampoo, conditioner, and wash cloths.

Donations may be dropped off through Dec. 1 at Evergreen Middle School, 14544 County Road 6, or Evergreen Community Library, 253 Maple St., both in Metamora. Donations following that date will be accepted at the middle school.
