Emily Legenza, a 2016 Wauseon High School graduate and 2015 Homecoming festival queen, was recently crowned Miss Ohio Amazing 2018 on Oct. 14 in Hudson.
The daughter of Ed and Meg Legenza and sister to Stas, is currently a sophomore at Ohio University, majoring in musical education with a choral emphasis. She is active at OU where she serves as the Soprano 1 sectional leader in the Women’s Ensemble, is a member of the Picardy Thirds a cappella group and the Athens Community Choir.
Legenza is also the secretary of the OU chapter of the American Choral Director’s Association, teachers a fine arts learning community and is a member of the Pi Beta Phi sorority. Most recently, she launched a campaign for the OU Marching 110 to wear gold ribbons to support the campus wide event, Go Gold For Childhood Cancer. With the help of her learning community students, they made over 300 gold ribbons for the band and directors to ear during the Oct. 21 home football game.
Legenza is planning to attend and compete in the national competition in Tennessee this coming July.
