Archbold School Board seats sought


There are five candidates running for three spots on the Archbold Board of Education. Karen E. Beck, Roel Galvan and Phil Nofziger will be on the ballot while Carrianne Baden and Jacqueline Wyse are write-in candidates. The Expositor only received questionnaires from Wyse and Baden.

CARRIANNE BADEN, 40

Education: Master’s of Science Nursing

Marital Status: Married

Civic Organizations: St. Peter’s Catholic Church, AANP, AORN, ONA.

1. Why are you running for office? I have three children currently in the school system, and if I am to have any involvement in their future at Archbold Schools, becoming part of the Board is my chance to accomplish that.

2. Why should people vote for you? I am a 1995 graduate of AHS, and am very proud of the community I choose to live in. I want to support our district in maintaining excellence in academics in the best interest of our students, staff and community.

3. What are your two main goals if elected? 1) Support maintenance and future progress of our district’s excellence by supporting current policy and affecting policy chance when necessary.

2) Facilitate communications when warranted between the Board and community members by making myself available to its members.

4. Have you held office before? No.

JACQUELINE WYSE, 52

Education: Graduated from Archbold High School in 1983. Graduated with RN from Mercy School of Nursing in 1989. Certified RN First Assistant since 1994.

Marital Status: Married to Jon Wyse since 1988.

Civic Organizations: Archbold Athletic Boosters, Archbold Football Mothers Club.

1. Why are you running for office? I feel very blessed to have graduated from and raised 3 children in the Archbold school system. I am now ready to contribute my time and talents to help the Archbold school district continue its tradition of excellence.

2. Why should people vote for you? I am passionate about the Archbold Schools. I will be an open ear for the district and utilize my skill set to ensure decisions are made to give our students the best possible opportunities.

3. What are your two main goals if elected?

1. Assist with preserving the excellent tradition Archbold has established academically, athletically and musically.

2. Keep the lines of communication open between the community, school board and staff to support the district in the best way possible.
