Ossmann wins safety award

Peter Ossmann, center, Health and Emergency Response coordinator at North Star BlueScope Steel in Delta, was a 2017 recipient of the Steel Manufacturers Association’s Don B. Daily Achievement in Safety award at the association’s Fall Safety Committee and Plant Operations meeting in Pittsburgh, Pa. It is SMA’s highest safety award, recognizing the safety efforts of individuals and companies in the North American EAF steel industry. “His dedication to safety extends beyond the job,” said Phillip K. Bell, SMA president. “His work to ensure his community and emergency response organizations are knowledgeable and well-trained is commendable.” Ossman is pictured with SMA and North Star Bluescope Steel representatives.
